BIG GAME in Patagonia: Argentina Hunting Lodges

Our Patagonia, Argentina Red Stag hunting lodge is located outside Junín and San Martin de los Andes, Argentin aand offers a 173,000 acre free range home to thousands of Patagonia Red Stag.  The lodge employs about 25 gauchos and 10 in-house workers to run farm and guest operations.  Your hosts, Paula and Martin ensure that the customs of old Argentina estancias are as unaltered as the Patagonia frontier.  Anglers, hunters and polo players from around the world quickly realize the refined informality at this 100 year old ranch that allows them to relax as they were in their own home.

Hunting guests are housed in the ranch’s hunting lodge which is a separate building from the fishing lodge and main building.  The Red Stag hunting lodge holds a total of ten guests with a maximum of 5 hunters at one time.  The rooms have double or single beds and private bathrooms.  All visitors enjoy cocktails in the bar and showroom before or after dinner.  Family style meals are served with all natural meats, vegetable and other foods produced organically on the ranch.

Non-hunters can enjoy a polo match or short hikes to see wildlife such asred deer, rhea birds, condors and wild boar.  Bird watching is also an option with naturalist and guide, Gilles, who takes guests hiking or driving to the remote portions of the ranch.

This is one of our guests’ favorite places to stay in Patagonia. The authenticity and genuine people replace what some might seek in glitz and glamour, but leave us with a connection to a country that feels more like a friend.
